The brief for this project was to create a homelike experience for the boarding house bathrooms, which reflected natural bushland elements – such as colours and materials. Our team took inspiration from the surrounding context to select our materials palette from Eucalypt trees, leaves and the sandstone apparent across North Sydney.

The space provides the Wenona boarders with a mature and familiar space with the joy of the warmth that timber offers. The interior was accented by black fixtures and fittings, stone and air- filtering indoor plants.

Every touch point of this design has been considered through the eyes of the boarders to give them spaces to be proud of, whilst maintaining an elegant, low maintenance and robust school environment.
